Return to office demands meeting resistance

A warning from across the Tasman?

Pharma in Focus reports that the Australian pharma industry could be facing another jobs crunch with people prepared to walk away from their jobs if they are forced to return to the office more frequently.

Bosses are expecting people to spend more hours at the office, possibly to justify the cost of large corporate offices, the industry journal says.

But it says the move is being met with resistance and even outright hostility.

Speaking at an Australian pharma recruitment webinar, PharmiWeb head of business development Simon Brough said even if employees can be enticed back to the office there will be a big price to pay, with staff that are prepared to do so demanding bigger salaries and benefits.

PharmiWeb managing director, Vince Lody, advised hybrid working is “here to stay”.
